about

"This intriguing debut album from Spanish artist Hypnodial gets under your skin. His moody, song-like instrumentals have moments that echo Vangelis or Tangerine Dream, or those jazzy chord changes you hear in vintage Detroit techno, but never for too long before he veers off into something else. Two tracks from this were a perfect fit for our recent Future Noir 2049 mix."

(Ambient Music Guide)

"Aether Alcoves in many ways resembles the old work of Vangelis with its warm, analog tones and rhythmic pulses. It's that warmth and analog sound that pervades the entire release. Some tracks sound uniquely like old 80s B-movie treasures as well. Even a track like Dreammachine sounds like a Gary Numan-esque instrumental outtake remixed with dashes of ambient. Essentially, there is room for all fans of electronic music here provided you have an open ear. This isn't really ambient nor is it really dark ambient or new age. It's all of the above and then sort of none of it in the same breath."

(The Noise Beneath The Snow)

"With twelve tracks ranging from gentle ambient tunes to downtempo electronics, this album is well varied and thus an excellent companion for daily listening. My favorite is the dubby ambient tune Old Café but I'm damn sure that every ambient aficionado will easily appreciate this stuff."

(Merchants of Air)

"Hypnodial reminds me of some of the more solid ambient and electronic music releases of the late 80s and early 90s. Well done, well produced, and something quite nice to relax to."

(A Miscellany Of Tasteful)

"With a length of almost one hour, the album is divided into twelve hypnotic and bubbling pieces that create a dreamlike ambience, with most of the pieces taking the nighttime as a starting point. Hypnodial uses a combination of samples, traditional instruments and field recordings to create some enveloping atmospheres."
